1. hey dan,thanks for the intie.first off i need to mention about your previous band offal stench.so what happened to that band and why did you start vixen execution? and how did you come up with the bands name?
well What happened to Offal was that the drummer Ricki moved to Australia, he was the original vixen drummer aswell and wanted to focus on his main band Odiusembowel.so we recruited Leon (formerly of Brutalized Mortality) to be the Vixen drummer.the name was something we had been pondering on a while, no real reason we choose it just sounds tough lol.
2. in my opinion ,the band sounds like offal stanch plays some grinding parts !!!!! i really get into your sound.the band has some offal stenchs essences for sure.so describe the bands sound and what bands influence the band alot?
Nah bro its way diffrent than Offal man, where going for the whole grindcore thing but with that brutal death metal sound, and yeh for sure we got some sik breakdowns and slams but my opinion it's way diffrent to the stench bro. some of the main influence's for vixen is Regurgitate,Devourment,Terminally Your Aborted Ghost, Cephalic Carnage, Brutal Truth.all grindcore bands pretty much but thats what were about, just with some brutal gurgles and gutturals.
3. oh i forgot to ask the current line up.tell us about it.i guess some guys are in other bands just like you right? tell me what bands you guys are involved with besides vixen execution.
line up at present is me on Vokills,Geoff on guitar, Dave on Bass and Leon on drums. we are looking for a second guitarist currently aswell.
Geoff just does Vixen, Leon drums for another band called Vice Of The Sky, Dave plays bass in Vice Of The Sky and Content To Bleed aswell, and me i do the gurgles for Offal Stench, loadmaster and also play drums and sing for Morgue Molestation. oh yeh and Leon and Geoff have a hip-hop band Drive-Thru Shooting.
4. your vocals are pretty lows.so describe your vocals and tell us what bands influences your vocals style.those vocals are very similar to offal stench.
Yeh man similar to Offals vocals but alot more Screaming and growling than just gutturals, mixing it up a bit i guess, wanting to explore the boundaries of all sik vocal styles. all gutturals are inspired by the likes of devourment,cephalotripsy,ARTERY fucking ERUPTION, then like high screams inspired by the like of Discordance Axis, Flesh Parade, Bodies In The Gears Of The Apparatus,
then crazy shit like foetopsy and screaming afterbirth.too many influence's really man.
5. as for grinding parts,how do you create them? any particular bands inspire you to do that?
Geoff comes up with most of the riffs himself, he's influenced by the grindcore styles most particularly but the newer songs are still grind but heading more to a brutal death nature. keeps changing man so keeps it creative.
6. you guys use slams as well as grinding parts.i know you really love to use those parts.so for this band,what do slams and breakdowns mean?
To us there just vital parts to our songs, all the ones we have fit into the musical structure of our songs perfectly giving the songs good variety, plus slams and breakdowns fucking own, every cunts gotta do them lol.
7. what kind of gears do you guys use?
leon use's Tama drums, a diffrent selection of cymbals and i'm not sure what type of triggers he use's.Geoff use's an ESP guitar and a Lanely cab/amp setup , not
sure on Daves
bass rig and i use Audix mic's and using a yamaha vocal PA.
8. what releases will you have? maybe youll got upcoming merch?
We have just finished recording our first Ep titled " Devour The Cervical Martyr " sounds fucking sik as man.should be released very soon, just waiting for the artwork to be cumpleted. Might look at getting some t-shirts made for sure, we already got ideas for them so hopefully get some out and around the world.
9. hows new zealands scene? any new bands worth checked out?
The New Zealand scene is going well, not many slam/grind bands around. heaps of tech death band that have done extremly well for themselves. it's just such a small place though man ay so we appreciate everything that we got. i recomend to you some Relentless Attrition, Ulcerate, Odiusembowel,Backyard Burial, Torturor.
10. dan,i know you will start some new projects.tell us about that.and youll reform offal stench when you have chance?
yeh man i'm always looking at doing new musik ay got a project going with lidsey from the strench sounds pretty cool. yeh man when ever Ricki comes from Aussie back to here we will jam/gig.
We just about to go on a little tour of New Zealand so that should be fucking sweet, might even do some new record just have to wait and see man.
