1. hey bro.thanks for the intie.first off i guess each of you in another goregrind bands from florida.so how did you guys team up and form the band? and how did you guys come up with the bands name undead devourment? is it related to the band DEVOURMENT?
Hahahahaha I expected this question from someone! No we are not related to Devourment. Ive seen a few bands out there with the word "Devourment" in their name. But I can see how someone would make the connection hehe. The name was really thought of as a joke one day. When the band started I wasn't very serious haha, so the name kinda went along with my mentality at the time.
2. describe the bands sound and what bands influence you guys alot? for me the band sounds like good mix of grinding parts and slow parts such as slams and breakdowns
Yeah we really just incorporate whatever we are listening to at the time. So it's a mix of a ton of things. We are all big fans of slam, so that gets involved. Really I wouldnt even say we have a formula we follow, we just sit down and write. One song could be slam and the next one could be straight grind.
3. you use non effected vocals right? describe vocals style and what bands influence your vocals style?
The only vocal effects we use would be mixing effects like light compression and such. We try to avoid things like pitch shifters. For vocals, I would say we are really influenced by a mix of things. Putrid Pile and Guttural Secrete are big ones.
4. the guitar sound is so chunkey and chuggy for me and the band has cool slams remind me of dyscrasia.so descibe the guitar sound! and devourment is the main influence for it?
I have always been big into breakdowns and chuggy riffs. I find it really powerful and fun to listen to. Our guitar sound is for me really influenced by bands like OLD Infected Malignity and Abysmal Torment. Devourment is a major influence, but surprisingly I don't listen to them as much as one would guess. They are a really good band and my guitar riffs are influenced at times by them, but they are not our main influence.
5. as for slams and breakdowns,how do you create them and what do you care for when you write those parts?
and any particular bands motivate you to create them?
I have a ton of fun with breakdowns and slams. I usually write the drums for that stuff first. And then I lay the guitars over it. I try to make things I could see people moshing to when it comes to breakdowns. As for bands that motivate us for that stuff'mm. There are so many bands out there that do this stuff that its really hard to list motivations. One band that really got me going with slams was Infected Malignity. But sadly they have changed their style to metalcore *cringe*. But man, everyone should give a listen to their old demo and first album for slams and breakdowns.
6. you use grinding parts as well as slow parts.
describe your grinding parts and how do they differ from other bands ones?
Our grinding stuff differs because I think we have a little more diversity in it then most of the other bands I hear. I hear a ton of unoriginal grinding out there, I think bands should mix it up a bit with different ways of going about it.
7. some of you are in another goregrind bands.so undead devourment has some essences of goregrind?
Hell yeah! Goatbeard is in the band Vomiting Rectum and Knuckles is doing his one man band Cunt Puncher. Gore grind is a big thing for us. Actually, Undead Devourment started out playing gore grind. Our original songs were pretty much straight gore grind. Back when it was my one man project. Good days, good days.
8. what kind of releases and merch will you have?
We are trying to get shirts at the moment! And we are recording our album currently. Shirts should happen pretty soon, and the album will happen whenever we can find a label to release it! Or until we give up and try to self release.
9. tell us all the bands you guys are involved with!
Goatbeard is in Vomiting Rectum. It's real good stuff if your into getting your insides shot out via machine gun and grindcore. And Knuckles is in Cunt Puncher. Its pretty fucking br00tal.
10. hows scene there? any new sick bands from florida ? and what bands have you been into recently?
Our scene is pretty cool. Some good bands hanging around. A really sick new band I recently saw was "Success Will Write Apocalypse Across the Sky". Really good fucking shit. And then there's Goatbeards band Vomiting Rectum, those guys are sick as fuck.
