Interview with Martin of Sarcoma Fermentation

1. hey martin i finally get a chance to interview you man! so first off give us a brief history of sarcoma fermentation and i just heard that some of the members left the band but brian of artery eruption joined the band right? that's awesome news dude so what's the bands line-up as of right now?
Wut's up Seiji! Glad to do this interview with you, dude. Well Sarcoma Started out in 2005 as a full band. Alex as guitarist, Anthony as bassist, Sergio and drums, and myself of vocals. Alex left somewhere to mexico, and never really came back. So he is out of the band, and as for the other memebers, we really didn't practice. And they don't seem focused so well on Sarcoma, so they are out. I have decided to make this a drum machine band. With the help of my friend Chris from Goulashed Foetus doing drum tracks, and Brian from Artery Eruption on guitar. So everything should be good as hell.

2. needless to say the bands sound is of the sick slam oriented kind of brutality with influences from bands like devourment, rest in gore, corpse carving, and gutrot right? so describe your music in depth and tell us what other bands influence sarcoma fermentation.
We all have different taste in music, but it's mostly the same. Myself, I love slam and alot of crust/grind/goregrind. Brian loves his slams of course, and brutal death metal. And Chris enjoys slams, and death metal bands like Death, Necrophagist and such. But I really wish we won't have that whole California death metal sound, 'cuz it's really fuckin' boring to me. I perfer to have a unique sound than any other band in Cali.

3. brian of artery eruption is def one of the sickest guitarists around when it comes to creating cool and brutal slam riffs so what does he bring to the band and as for creating the slam parts how does that work? does brian mainly create them?
Well Brian has the creating mind of making slams, which I really love. He is amazing in creating stuff I should say. He does all the guitar work, and Chris would just add the drum parts.

4. you use exhale gutturals right? what kind of vocals do you use besides gutturals do you use any squeals or gurgles and etc? and what vocalists influence your vocal style?
Well I actualy lost my gutturals a while back, because I never would practice, only when I had band practice. Now that I am getting this band on it's shoes one more time, I am devolping them quickly. I do gutturals and pig squeals, and sometimes screams. Matti Way from Liturgy has to be one of my main influences, he is so unique on his gutturals. As well with Brian Forgue from Gutrot/Mutilated. Amazing vocalist.

5. chris the drum programmer was in another band before this one so is that where he learned how to use a drum machine? what bands can you compare the drum machine sound to?
Chris is in Goulashed Foetus and Canni. Canni is just a mess around drum machine band, and Goulashed Foetus is one amazing pathological death/goregrind band. Influenced by Disgorge (mex), Disgorged Foetus and such.

6. another question about slams again, describe your band's slam parts and breakdowns cause there's some different styles like txdm, nydm, jpdm and etc when it comes to slams and breakdowns. probably sounds like artery eruption cause of brian right?
Ahh, now we are getting somewhere. I perfer JPDM then anything else, I perfer to have the whole Jap style, you know? That's what I really dig the most.

7. what kind of gear do you use? and generally how does writing songs work?
Well, for drum machine, we use Fruity Loops. It has this really unique sound to it. Brian records the guitar riffs, and he sends them to me. So I send them to Chris, so he records drum tracks on to them. Then I record vocals, simple as that.

8. you guys have any another projects besides sarcoma fermentation? and do the past members still play in bands with this kind of style?
Well I have a band called C.U.N.T. Just a grind band with the influences of goregrind like C.A.R.N.E., Impetigo, and such. Chris has Canni and Goulashed Foetus. and Brian just has Artery Eruption, I think, lol.

9. how's cali's scene? any new bands worth mentioning?
Hmmmm, Condemned is a good band to check out. Putrefukation as well. I don't really like the bands down here, they all bore me to be honest.

10. what releases will you have in the near future and will you have some merch as well to go along with it? i need a t-shirt soon haha.
Well, we have a split comming up with Goulashed Foetus, but due to problems with the members of each band, we had to keep the release on hold. We will have merch aventualy when our stuff is released in the sewers of Japan. Haha.

11. what is the main goal of the bands sound and do you have any shows planned?
Just as unique as possible. Not like any bands in Caliofornia.

12. what bands have you been into recently?
Oh man, I listen to anything now an days. Lately it has been Liturgy, Brodequin, Wormeaten, Slipknot, Stoma, Foetopsy, Screaming Afterbirth, Skitsystem, and such bands like those.

thanks bro! anything you want to add?
