Interview with Pray for the Wrenched
1. hey bro.thanks for the intie.i just accidentally found your band through myspace and then i was so surprised by your sound!! your band pray for the wrenched reminds me of implements of hell.alright, tell us the bands history and how did you come up with the bands name pray for wrenched.
We started out as a band called "A Dead Refrain", after that groove fell apart, Austin, and Mike (Vox, and Guitar), started looking for new members to fill in the blanks. Along came Sam, then Mark, Jake, and finally Brittany, and things we're set off from there.
The name comes from the song by BDM, "Hymn for the Wrenched", the "Pray" part just fell in.
2. i think you guys basically play slam-oriented stuff but you guys evolve it to your own sound.so describe your bands sound and what bands influence you guys.
Our sound comes from a mix of influences, WhiteChapel, TTEOTD, BDM, and many more. We try to keep our sound as original as possible. Out songs are a mix of grind-orific breakdowns, with a lil dash of 2step.
3. describe your vocals.you use squeals alot just like another new style bands waking the cadaver, implements of hell and etc? and what bands influence your vocals style?
Our lyrics carry a gore ring to them, WhiteChapel was our biggest influence on lyrics. And the Squeals well, if u can do them, use them :)
4. slams and breakdowns are your main thing right haha? you guys create cool ones! so how do you guys create them and what bands motivate you to come up with those parts?
Slams are what most of todays listerns are into, but we like to mix it up. our next song to be put up will have a bit more upbeat step to it.
5. what kind of gears do you guys use?
our gear is very basic, we just use what we've got at the moment, and wen we jam or play with other bands we use there equipment.
6. i guess implements of hell means alot for you guys.so how does that band influence pray for the wrenched and what do you guys learn from them?
Implements of Hell is really our vocalist main influence, "with out Clayton (the lead vox for IoH) i wouldn't have fell into the grove," says Austin, "he taught me everything i know."
7. what kind of releases will you have and you plan to make some merch?
