Interview with Sean and Sam of Ingested

1. hey bro thanks for doing this interview, first off the band started as age of suffering so how did the bands name changed to the current name of ingested and has the music itself changed at all?
The name change came as a result of lyn joining the band. his drum style is much more brutal and we decided to change the name to something more brutal which was our aim and direction anyway.

2. i noticed that you guys listed some fairly new bands like disconformity, abnominable putridity, stench of dismemberment and etc. as influences so are you guys more akin to the new school as opposed to the old school?
Definately like the new school element but more like new gorgasm and sarcolytic but we love old school grooves like suffocation and early dying fetus.

3. you guys have some cool slams and breakdowns like devourment so how do you take a style like theirs and evolve it into yours?
Instead of going for just slam slam slam we add technical riffs and more beheaded styled grooves. A variety of Vocals and utilize the fact we have 2 guitarists more with things like double ups and harmonies.

4. describe your vocals parts like who influences them and what kind of vocals do you use?
Well Jason our lead vocalist is quite a uniquie vocal style his vocals are ultra low growls not gutturals similar to beheaded but lower. Sam the guitarist does most of the gutturals and Sean does most of high/mid range vocals like inhales and screams

5. what kind of gear do you use? and describe your playing style and what it sounds like.
We use esp jackson and bcrich guitars, schecter bass, peavey and marshall amplification, dod and boss pedals, Lyn uses any drum kit he can get his hands on iron cobra pedals and his homemade snare. Jason uses his lungs.
Well Sean and Sam write most of the songs together and Sean writes alot of the catchy riffs and Sam wrties more technical riffs. Lyn is likes speed and drums that compliment guitars. Jason writes catchy vocal patterns fast attacks and brad plays bass hahaha

6. some of you are in crepitation so are there any other bands you guys are involved in?
sean and lyn are in Crepitation Sam fills in on Bass for crepitation sometimes sean and lyn created crainial disinterment but focus on ingested. Sam is trying to be a vocalist but failing miserably (not enough bands with no vocalist)

7. as for the uk scene are there any new bands you want to mention? i noticed that there's quite a variety of styles going around in the uk, like hardcore influenced bands consisting of trenchhead and annotations of an autopsy, and slam oriented death bands like ingested and crepitation.
Yeah well Trenchhead Kastrated and Crepitation are srong player in the UK. Infected Dissary are fucking awesome as are Amputated, Dead Beyond Buried. There isnt alot of really brutal bands in the UK Ingested are trying to put the UK on the map

8. what kind of releases do you have planned? and how did you guys sign with grindethic records?
The 3 way split with Crepitation and Kastrated. Were in the process of writing an album. Grindethic approached us at a gig in wales and asked us to sign up. We accepted hahaha.

9. what bands have you been into recently?
Devourment - butcher the weak re-master
Sarcolytic - S-T / MCD
Insidious Decrepency - both albums
Hate eternal - King of all Kings
Necrotic Disgorgement - Suffocated in Shrinkwrap
Gorgasm - Masticate to Dominate
Defeated Sanity - Prelude to a Tragedy and the new promo
Heinous Killings - Hung with barbwire
Psycropitic - symbols of Failure
Weve been banging out them lovely albums

10. what's your view on the future of the uk scene? and tell us your future plans as well.
Hopefully bands like Trenchhead, Ingested, Crepitation and Kastrated will bring in fresh new bands in the Uk scene with a more brutal stlye because nothing in the UK has been brutal or new in the past 15 years. New brutal bands are all coming out of the floorboards. As far as are plans go MORE GIGS MORE FESTS and to finish writing the album. Hopefully break the US.

thanks again for the interview dude, any last words?
UKDM is on the rise!!!
