Interview with Andreas of MP5-K
1. hey andreas!!! im so glad to interview you again after unrelenting butcherys intie. so first off the bands name was taken from soiles of fates song 'mp5-k' right? how did you form the band and tell us the current line up. maybe the band includes some of
unrelenting butcherys members? 7. i saw you guys did cover song of soiles of fate on youtube.what soiles of fate mean for you
guys? is it legendary band for you right?
Hey Seiji! Thanks for doing another interview with me and thanks
for supporting MP5-K!
We got the name "Mp5-K" from Soils of fates song "Killaz Beware" and
it was actually Henke himself who thought we should use it as the
name of our band. On drums we have Fredrik Widig, Erik Carmstad on
guitar/bass and myself on vocals. Fredrik is also in Unrelenting
butchery.
2. the band sounds like mix of soiles of fate and NYDM for me. so describe the bands sound and what bands influence you guys mainly?
There are so many bands that influence us man. But our main
influences are Soils of fate, Dying fetus, Stabwound, Devourment, Degrade and many many more.
3. how does your vocals in this band differ from unlelenting butchery? and what bands can you compare yours for mp5-k?
My vocals are not as guttural as in Unrelenting butchery.
I try to make ir more aggressive kind of grunting with a mix of more
guttural stuff. haha its very hard to explain but you will see on the
demo!
4. there are tons of grooves and slams parts.who mainly create them? and
what bands did you guys learn from and evolve those parts to your owns?
It's all Erik man! He is the sicko behind all our riffs.
Erik is a die hard fan of Dying fetus so he gets alot of insperation
from them. I guess it was from them he started writing slams.
5. both the guitarist and the drummer are really good musicians.so describe
each instruments sound in detail and tell us their influence bands too.and
what kind of gear do you guys use?
I'm not that good on equipment and stuff but I do know that Fredrik
plays with Axis pedals and Pearl drums and Erik uses a Yamaha guitar.
To describe in detail every insturment is to hard for me haha
As I said before, when the demo comes out you guys check it
out for youself.
6. im sure you guys will create more slams and breakdowns than current
sound.so how are you guys progressing with the bands sound for near future?
Things are moving along very nice and I feel that we are getting better
every practise. We will not be satisfied until our tracks are perfect!
We are currently not writing any new material we just want to get all our
old songs perfect for the demo. Then after that we are just gonna
push things forward and make more brutal and intense music.
Soils of fate is one of our favourite bands! What more can I say?
They are legends for sure and they are also the most brutal band
ever to come from Stockholm . They very much to us as a band.
8. what releases will you have?
First up is our debut demo calles "Deranged Stockholm Syndrome".
We will record it sometime before or during this summer we hope.
Then after that we are gonna try to play some gigs, write more songs
and them we see what happens! Hopefully a full length album in a year
or two.
9. i believe swedish bands has their own brutality such as original slams, grooves and etc.tell us about that and why. and what are strong points of mp5-k that others dont have?
Since we don't have a very big slam scene here in Sweden , I think
that makes us do it in our own way. With the inspiration of bands
from other places in the world and a touch of Swedish brutality
you get something that is not very much like anything else around.
That is at least what I think.
I think the best thing about MP5-K is that we do our own thing!
We want to do something new and fresh you know.
10. any infos about new bands from there? and generally hows scene there?
I have not heard any new bands for a while now that are from Sweden .
Vaginal Stabwound is probably the latest and Cranial maggots
but I have never heard them. Gonna see em live tomorrow so we will see.
The scene here is goin well now! The few bands that are active are
doing all they can to spread the brutality. I think the scene here
will grow now and become stronger than ever.
11. personally i really love waking the cadaver as well as devourment.WTC
influences your scene at some points? and is it popular to use pig squeals
styled vocals as well as USA ?
Yeah man the slams of WTC are a big influence for us as well as the
vocals. I dont think the pig squealing thing is that big here in Sweden .
Not yet at least. I try to learn some pig squeals but its to hard haha
12. what bands have you been into recently?
Oh it's so many lately. The new Abominable putridity track
have been playing here alot lately as well as the new WTC track.
Besides that it's lots and lots of Glossectomy! Probably my favourite
band from Japan ever.
13. thanks for the intie.any last words you would like to add??
Thank you Seiji for doing this intie with me and thanks for
supporting my bands and all Death metal!
Keep it sick!!!"
